It's hard to imagine, suffering from phantom limb pain for 54 years and having the pain end overnight. After a severe operation left him with a tremendous amount of pain, Jim, a 72-year-old above-knee amputee, tried everything to alleviate it, even countless painkillers prescribed by his doctor.
